Welcome to Pineland Farms!

Located in the rolling hills of New Gloucester, Maine, Pineland Farms is a 5,000-acre working farm, diverse business campus and educational and recreational venue that welcomes visitors to enjoy its beautiful rural landscape.

Pineland Farms' mission is to provide a productive and educational venue that enriches the community by demonstrating responsible farming techniques, offering educational opportunities and encouraging a healthy lifestyle through recreation.

Things to do at Pineland in the Spring and Summer

When you arrive, start at The Market/Welcome Center—our staff is happy to help you find your way around and answer questions.

Explore the Fields and Trails
Enjoy a Walk, Run or Hike: Explore 25km of trails on your own, or schedule an organized outing. Borrow a daypack filled with binoculars, birdcalls and field guides at The Market/Welcome Center.

Go Mountain Biking: Trails are open for mountain biking and offer lots of variety from easy family rides to challenging hilly rides. Get a trail pass and map at The Market/Welcome Center.

Learn Orienteering: Our 1,200-acre course is mapped with checkpoints to locate with a map and compass. Get a map at The Market/Welcome Center and go out on your own, or ask about scheduled workshops and meets.
Recreation on the Main Campus
Play Tennis: Knock the ball around on one of three well-kept hard courts. First-come, first-served.

Fish: Cast a line into our stocked pond (license required).
Stroll the Garden
Our one-acre garden is one of the top-ten favorite public gardens in People Places & Plants. Stroll its brick walkways, take beautiful photos, or picnic on the lawn under the apple trees.
Tour Valley Farm
Visit the Creamery: Observation windows let you watch our cheese-making operation.

Set out on a Self-Guided Tour: Pick up a brochure and a map at The Market/Welcome Center.
Programs and Events
Education Programs: Thousands of acres of forests, fields and farmyards serve as an inspiring hands-on classroom, where you can explore your connection to natural history and agriculture.

Horseback-Riding Lessons and Clinics: Our Equestrian Centers offer lessons for children and adults. Horses available for all levels, or bring your own. Lessons are held in indoor and outdoor arenas.

Summer Day Camp: Experience real, hands-on fun at summer day camp!
