Description: Our group will hike Pleasant Mountain via Ledges Trail on Friday Oct. 6, and camp the night before at Pleasant Mountain Camping area. The Hike via Ledges Trail is a 3.3-mile out-and-back trail near Denmark, Maine on Friday Oct. 6. (if rain is predicted on Friday, we may move the hiking date to Thursday Oct. 5) Generally considered a challenging route, it takes an average of 2 h 33 min to complete. If unable to join us for camping on Thursday night, veterans can join us for hiking only on Friday Oct. 6. This hike is a great event for those just starting to hike, but aren’t ready to hike a 4000′ peak yet. We will hike at a leisurely pace with plenty of rest breaks. Veterans should plan to bring their own tent, and sleeping bag for camping on Thurs. night prior to the hike, and a day back pack for the hike. This event is in collaboration with Loon Echo Land Trust who will be supporting some of our meals on this hike and sharing information about other Loon Echo Land Trusts to explore.
