Corn Maze is closed for the season.

While it is sad to see it go, we know that the best part of having a 4 acres corn maze is that after all our fall visitors have explored the twists and turns the maze continues to give back to the farm!

Did you know that as the last visitor makes their way out of the maze our farmers are waiting to harvest the corn to ensile it for a nutritious additive to the cows diet over the winter? Ensilage or silage is a type of fodder made from green foliage crops which have been preserved by acidification, achieved through fermentation. It can be fed to cattle, sheep and other such ruminants.

Making sure we have enough feed to last all through the Maine winter is a big job for our farmers because each of our cows eats about 100lbs. of feed every day!

Thanks to our farmers and all our visitors this has been the 6th and most successful year for the maze!
