National Museum of the Morgan Horse

In cooperation with Cabot Morgans and Pineland Farms the National Museum of the Morgan Horse (NMMH) has been relocated to the Pineland Farms Equestrian Center. Owned by the American Morgan Horse Association, the NMMH is now open to visitors Thursday – Saturday 9am-2pm with the purchase of a 2 Hour Farm Pass.

NMMH will maintain and preserve the history of the Morgan breed while educating and sharing the history of them through the collection. The museum hosts exhibits, art and a library of the AMHA Registry volumes and the breed’s official publication The Morgan Horse. New exhibits and collections will be featured.

The online collection can be viewed HERE.

For the first time, the NMMH shares a home with Morgan horses! Visitors can view the museum and take a first-hand look at Morgan horses from the collection at Cabot Morgans.

Our Vision

The public should know and respect the importance of the Morgan breed, including in the history and development of the United States.

Our Mission

To educate and share the history of the Morgan horse by collecting, preserving, and maintaining art, artifacts, and archives.

Core Values
The NMMH will embrace, respect, and value the diversity of the Morgans and will appreciate all aspects of the breed.

The NMMH will be good stewards of the history of the Morgan horse, including the collection, the people, and the stories that comprise the history.

The NMMH will engage the national and international Morgan horse community through a variety of efforts including outreach at events, affiliation with other Morgan-related groups, and use of all media venues.

In March 2023, Cheers From Maine visited the Pineland Farms Equestrian Center & The National Museum of the Morgan Horse to meet Rick Lane, the beautiful Morgan horses that are housed there, and the Market at Pineland Farms to enjoy a couple local brews. Watch the video from Maine Life Media to learn more about their visit.

You can visit the Pineland Farms Equestrian Center with a 2 Hour Farm Pass every week Thursday – Saturday 9am-2pm. Or participate in our Afternoon at the Equestrian Center program this spring. Call the Education Department at 207.650.3031 for more info.
