VAST Testimonials
What Our Veterans Say
“VAST didn’t just help me become more active, it gave me back a quality of life that I don’t believe I could have achieved without them. It gave me a reason to get outside, try new things, challenge myself, and, most importantly, enjoy life again. The past two years with VAST have been the best years of my life.”

“I met VAST shortly after being discharged from a nine-month hospital stay and retiring from the military. I had just relearned how to walk and was very slow—everything physically was a challenge. At the time, my only social interaction was with home health care visits. VAST truly got me back on my feet. The physical activities, social interaction, and constant encouragement from the group made it possible for me to become mobile and social again. My physical and mental health have improved tremendously. I am forever thankful that I met Kristina and for all the people who support VAST.”

“I wanted to share how truly amazing my adventure with VAST was. We played wheelchair basketball and pickleball, went hiking at night, rode bicycles, tried off-road adaptive tricycles, enjoyed archery and bowling, and experienced so many wonderful activities together. The best part was meeting new people and veterans with many different disabilities. We were able to understand one another in a way that others sometimes cannot. The entire experience was incredibly humbling and gave all of us an opportunity to feel normal, be ourselves, and step away from the craziness of the world for a little while. We had fun, encouraged one another, and laughed—and I honestly have not laughed that much in a very long time. I left feeling happy, grateful, and inspired. Thank you to everyone who made this fantastic adventure possible. I truly cannot wait for the next one!”
